6th Annual Gary Van Riper Society Open Golf Classic - 2007

The SDSHP Gary Van Riper Society Open Golf Classic is a fund-raising golf tournament that benefits SDSHP supported student activities such as the ASHP Clinical Skills Competition, and scholarship initiatives of SDSHP.  SDSHP contributes at least $1000 annually to the scholarship funds of the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy, and SDSHP has a goal to establish an endowed scholarship at SDSU in the near future.  The Society Open Golf Classic was first held in 2002, and has been help annually ever since. 

In 2006, the name of the Society Open Golf Classic was officially changed to The Annual Gary Van Riper Society Open Golf Classic to honor SDSHP Charter Member, Gary Van Riper, for all the time, effort and talent he has given to the establishment and continuation of SDSHP.

This event is always a lot of fun, and growing every year.  We hope you can join us for our next event and have a great time!!!

The Gary Van Riper Society Open Golf Classic was held on Friday, July 13th, 2007 at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Fourteen teams competed in this 4 person scramble tournament. For the third year in a row the team of Dennis Hedge, Jim Clem, Harlon Hendrick and Brian Geerts won the GVR Open with a score of 11 under score of 60 on this par 71 course.
