Each year, the President-Elect of ASHP has the privilege of appointing members to the ASHP Councils and Advisory Committees for the Society.  These bodies are responsible for creating policy for ASHP, and can have great influence on the practice of Health-System Pharmacy.  Also, each year, ASHP asks it's State Affiliates to submit recommendations for appointment to these groups to help the ASHP President-Elect make educated appointments. As President of SDSHP, that responsibility falls to Tom Johnson.  He needs to have recommendations completed and submitted by the end of the year, but ASHP would like them earlier if possible.  Therefore, I am asking the membership of SDSHP to let me know if you are interested in serving on any of these
prestigious national committees.  If you are interested, please send me a copy of your CV, which committee you would be interested in serving on (see below), and a brief statement as to why you would like to serve on this council.  You must be an ASHP member to be eligible to serve.  In 2002, Vince Reilly and Sarah Pochop received appointments to ASHP councils from South Dakota.  I would like to continue to have representation on ASHP councils from South Dakota again this year and beyond.  Please consider submitting your name for recommendation.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Tom Johnson.
